I think an underrated component of this year’s success has been the attitude, leadership, and the development of a winning culture by these outgoing seniors. Utah defenses have always had that but now the offense has finally caught on. If next year’s team can carry that forward, we will be more than fine.
I think Rising is our QB going forward and with guys like Wilmore, Green, Brumfield, Covey, Kuithe, and others, the offense will continue to be potent with Ludwig at the helm.
No, I don’t think it is. If it was the PAC 12 championship next week being played at RES instead of it being at a neutral site, then I’d agree.
Thanks for getting me more excited for the one game this season I get to go to though! Go Utes.
I think Colorado benefited from beating Stanford (confidence-wise), playing at home, and getting a bye week to get healthy and prepare for UW. This is not the awful Buffs team that beat us inexplicably in 2011. However, this is also not the mediocre 7-4 Utes team that lost that game. We are 10-1 and are formidable on both sides of the ball. I think we win this one handily.
That said, Mel Tucker is doing the right things in Boulder. They’re already out-recruiting us and building a respectable, tough program there. In the coming years, this will not be as easy of a win and a real rivalry might blossom.
We do play a lot of the same teams that they do. The difference is that they tend to lose and we tend to blow them out.
…and then he picks Cal to win.
At the very minimum it should be a 6 team playoff with the power 5 conference champions plus one more deserving team (G5 or otherwise). Top two would have first round byes.
Ah makes sense
You would think with all the growth over the years that the downtown SLC skyline would look more impressive. I guess they just like the small building sprawl out west.
There are actually a ton of tower projects in the works right now in SLC, including a potential new tallest building in Utah. Others include Tower 8, a Convention Center Hotel, Liberty Sky, a hotel on Regent Street, and a tower where an abandoned theater currently stands. The SLC skyline will look very different 10 years from now.
