I had a feeling something like that was going to happen. Hope he can take advantage.

Wasted two years in buffalo. Hopefully he is given a chance to succeed.

Let’s be fair here, he had every chance at Buffalo to shine. He wasn’t not given a chance to succeed. Maybe Zach doesn’t have what it takes for the NFL, maybe the coaching at Buffalo was sub par, maybe scheme didn’t fit Zach’s running style, etc. But the opportunities have been there and he was given the chance.

Don’t you bring logic to this board Aloha!  If I have learned anything on the hub over the years coaches decide who the stars are going to be not the players themselves, especially if they have a high snap count and low production.  Afterall, division 1 football at the highest level is really no different than youth sports, of course Timmy pitches and plays short, his dad is the manager.

I don’t know if that is entirely accurate. He certainly wasn’t shafted or anything, but he was in a position that would make it incredibly difficult for nearly any running back to succeed, especially one like Zack. The number 1 option on offense for the bills is Josh Allen. The number two option on offense is also josh Allen. If Josh Allen could throw the ball to himself he would. The Bills said they wanted a more balanced attack when they brought him in, and they made zero attempts at actually making the attack more balanced. Most running backs need 10+ touches before they really start to get rolling. Zack rarely if every had that opportunity.

As you correctly pointed out, that is as much on Zack as anyone else. He’s had some issues with ball security, and hasn’t been particularly effective most of the time when he actually has been given the ball. He has been pretty productive receiving the ball out of the backfield, but that’s really the only role he was allowed to have.

The best thing that can be said about his time in Buffalo is that he at least came out of it relatively healthy. He should be plenty fresh for the Colts if they decide to let him have a shot.

Exactly my point. The guy I responded to said he wasn’t given a chance to succeed, he was given the change, but certainly the scheme and focus on Josh Allen made it harder to succeed. But IF Zach had performed as I’m sure he wanted and how the Bills wanted when given all those chances, I guarantee the Bills would have built more of the offense around him.

The reality is that so much of success is based on situation almost as much as talent and skill. Maybe the Bills blocking schemes and offense approach didn’t fit Moss’s running style, maybe Moss didn’t have the skills. Likely it’s a bit of both.

Bummer. I would like to see him catch on to maybe the best team, now I hope he can catch on with a team down the line.
