Did anybody else find Whitt’s comments about the timeout confusing?

He stated that Washington came out and were aggressive with their play call and that’s why he took the timeout, hoping they would make an error and get the ball back. Washington came out and ran the ball and stayed inbounds…. how the hell is that an aggressive play call?

It was a decision that I am glad he is defending. Even though I think it is stupid.

I don’t understand his reasoning when it happened and don’t like his explanation after the fact.  The time for being aggressive should have been when your offense had the ball.

Because he thought if they were playing for OT, they would’ve taken a knee. But since they were continuing to drive, it meant to him they were being aggressive. At least that’s my understanding.

On the one hand, chances were slim of them making a mistake. But the chances they would complete 2 back to back long passes were also slim.

The odds of them throwing two back to back passes after that run with no timeouts was even slimmer.
