    I agree totally. He is in Utah, and Snow has been a good pipeline to the Utes. He could not qualify academically for this season, and if he is diligent, he will get it done at Snow. Being close, allows him to watch the Utes play. He can come up to SLC for games, and I am sure the coaches would be happy to see him in the stands. I think the guy becomes a Ute in two years, and it is unfortunate the team has to wait that long. But them are the rules. To me, this signals his intent.

      Forgive my ignorance: why two years? Could he not jump to the U after one year if he has a successful freshman year academically?

        A non qualifier has to get his AA (associates degree) before he can be eligible

  The plan is for him to play this season then redshirt his 2nd season and focus on his academics. Then come to Utah as a 3×3 player.
  
  He was placed to Snow by Utah Coaches and they are monitoring his progress.
