ALL IN OR IN THE WAY doesn’t work with mercenaries. Maybe you can have that attitude when a kid who commits either spends 5 years doing it your way or calls it a career. But if you are changing out 25-33% of your team yearly in the portal, you’d better be able to manage their expectations instead of just your own

You could say the same for a freshman Daniels at ASU or a first year Cam Ward at WSU or a 5* Moore from UCLA who is now at Oregon. QBs take time to develop. Unfortunately losses come with game experience unless you have a reliable running game.

The portal giveth and the portal taketh away. I think we all expect a large exodus this off season, but hopefully the coaches can find some great talent as well.

Appreciate your thoughts. I’d say even more than NIL a lot of people struggle with the transfer portal. Or at least the unlimited amount you can bounce around. Utah benefits more than it hurts us in regards to the portal so I’m not criticizing it in general. I just wish they would cap the amount of times.

This is exactly my feelings. To me the only players that are not seniors that I would be totally bummed if they left are Calhoun, Garcia, Lomu, both Fanos, Snowden (sometimes), Tao Johnson, Tanuvasa, Barton (if he can get his speed back), Woods (if he can actually play), Bouwmeester, Togiai, and Pepa.
