USC brought pressure on almost every snap thru the first 3 drives. We whiffed on a should be sack on 3rd down that turned into a scramble 20 yd completion and a 7-0 deficit became became 14-7 instead of 14-0, which was important because the next drive would be Travis 1st INT/SC TD

midway thru the 2nd q, crazy how similar the gameplan was for each offense. Ton of +/- 2yd LOS stuff.  Both teams were absolutely doing so with the idea of setting up 2nd level looks, USC was just much more of a threat to actually execute those 2nd level looks with Kessler/Juju/Adoree. The speed of USC d v ours showed sideline to sideline.

The 2015 D was built on a very talented group and probably more assignment sound (except no Norris in this game) but this current defense is faster pretty much everywhere

Killer sequence to start the 2nd half. Utah pass into scoring territory on 3rd and long is out of bounds by a toe. USC first drive 3rd and 14 incompletion becomes a 1st down on hands to the face personal foul. Next play USC fumbles but then recover. Ends in a TD that effectively ends the game at 35-17 because those 2 drives nearly took up the entire 3rd q

Their back 7 had a huge speed/ath advantage over our WRs. Scott/Repp/Singleton all big body guys not agile/quick enough win 1v1s and create the space for deep plays to even develop. Speed/quicks upgrade with Dixon/Simpkins/Thompson/Nacua will far outweigh the strength/size downgrade from Scott/Repp/Singleton in this matchup

That disadvantage was matched by their WRs advantage over our back 7, esp with the injuries to Norris and Porter spreading us thin
