Looks like ‘the powers that be’ have agreed to a new College Football Playoff payout structure.
Apparently the SEC/BIG will receive 29% each, ACC 17%, Big12 15%, G5 9%, and special considerations for ND. Other independents (are there any?) and the Pac-2 kind of get bilked.
Seems strange to me that anyone would agree to fixed payouts not based on…[Read more]

You can literally buy the shirt at the link in the twitter post.
I have never purchased from ‘dahlelama’ before, but it seems to indicate that the products are officially licensed.

If he goes undrafted, can he come back?

Nah. I like @cptmrgn05 ‘s more realistic takes (even when I don’t agree). Can they be a bit pessimistic at times? Sure.
However, this board (like many fan boards) can become like an echo chamber at times and needs a dose of reality here and there.

I would still watch Utah football. I would be disappointed, but I would still be a fan.
If you think Utah has been playing on a level field with the Ohio State, Alabama, USC, and Texas teams of the world (even in the Pac-12 era) then you haven’t really been paying attention.
While Utah may have closed the gap a little as a member of the Pac-12,…[Read more]

I don’t think the game is even scheduled yet, so I don’t think anyone on the planet can help you with this one.

Judging by how they dominated Utah this year, you could certainly be correct.

I think you are missing the point of the statement/argument: “Development”
@cptmrgn05 is not saying Cam is not a good quarterback, merely that there has not been much development.
Cam was a great QB when he first started playing at Utah. However, he arguably never really improved or developed in any significant way. His weaknesses/strengths from…[Read more]

That was before seemingly half the Utah team decided to go play somewhere else or sit out.

This idea that having your best players sticking around longer somehow hurts the team needs to go away.
We rarely get quarterbacks with as much success as Cam Rising. If him sticking around means we don’t get a portal QB, so be it. Shouldn’t affect high school recruiting much, if at all.

In the NIL era, I would’ve expected some of these types of guys to stick around longer, not declare early…

Bowl season used to be fun, now I am not so sure.
The amount of players entering the portal and sitting out games only seems to be increasing, which is very disappointing.
I’ll be watching and hoping for a good game, but I am not feeling particularly excited. It would likely be much more fun to go to the game, but everything is sofa king expensive.

There are lessons to be learned from what happens to other people that took a similar path
I think there is a whole lot of ‘chasing the money’ going on in college football right now (not just the players) and not much ‘learning from the past’.

Yeah, it sucks. Unless the athletes are paid and under contract, there is nothing really to be done.

Thanks for the information!
Not sure what caused so many injuries this year, but hopefully the team swings back towards the average (or better) next year on the injury front.
