Seydou Traore (portal TE whom both Utah and CU were in heavy contention for) committed to Colorado today. Lot of chest thumping and banter from buffs fans and coaches. Lot of response from our side, too. This was Fred Whittingham Jr’s reaction:

Twitter fighting aside, it’s unfortunate to see us swing and miss on our TE portal targets this off-season. Even if brant comes back he’ll be less than a year removed from ACL surgery by start of the season. Really would’ve liked to have stocked the cupboard with a good receiving TE from the portal.

2 more portal windows, this one ends Jan 18 and the other is the first half of May…what if more than Brant comes back next year? What if Lyons is back sooner than the normal 2 year mission length? What if Jacobsen is criminally underrated?

Traore would have been a nice piece but most likely would have been 3rd or 4th on the depth chart next year vs. likely starting at CU. He made the choice for him but he’s not our only option. Do not worry about the TE room.
