Do the post season games count against the 4 games that a player can play in and still be a red shirt year.

 I was wondering if Covey can come back to play in the CCG and the Bowl game and sill preserve his red shirt for this year.

Yes, they do count. So he’s done until next year.

The only thing that will change Covey’s redshirt is health. If Simpkins and Vickers go down I imagine he will be forced to come back.

As far as Covey is concerned, yes.  If he played so much as one snap in any postseason game, he’ll have forfeited his redshirt.

That said, I do seem to recall there being a clause for students who are sitting out due to transfer eligibility issues to be made eligible for the postseason if they’d signed their current school’s LOI past their 12th calendar month.  So if Cam Rising were to have signed his LOI on Dec. 31, 2018, he’d be eligible to play for Utah on (or after) Jan. 1, 2019.

So does anybody know when Rising signed his Utah LOI?
