  and come away complaining about coordinators. The plays were there to be made on both sides of the ball. Tackle after tackle was missed. Zone coverage assignments were repeatedly flubbed, passes were thrown poorly, well thrown passes were dropped, routes were run wrong.
  
  the only truly stupid play call was the double reverse. Stupidest play in all of footballdom. How anyone thinks that’s a good idea is beyond my comprehension.

  I don’t blame the coaching at all. Other than throwing three straight times inside the 2 yard line, I thought the play calling was really good. This loss was completely on the defense. Missed tackles, players out of position, allowing a bunch of conversions on 3rd and long. It was an embarrassing performance by them. They’ve got a lot to figure out by next week.

    Boyd averaged 8YPC on 19 carries. Utah could overcome everything else that happened, but you’re never going to overcome 8YPC by the feature back.

    Disagree loss was on Utes defense.
    
    Yes, it is hard to see a Utah defense give up 5 TDs the way they did last night, but that loss is on the offense. Rising played well and the offense played well overall, but they left 17-21 points on the field. That should have been a 50+ point performance. If I’m an OSU fan, I’m seriously concerned about the Beavs defense in general, but absolutely elated they came up with those two goal line stands.
    
    Coming up empty-handed with TWO 1st and goal possessions inside the 5 simply cannot happen.
    
    And of course giving up yet another touchdown on special teams is inexcusable. Especially when that punt unit has flirted with disaster all season.
    
    Offense wins championships.

      The offense scored 35 points. That should always be enough to win a game.

        I’ll stop short of complaining. But I’ll suggest that seeing them down to 3rd string safety, and us not attacking that dimension of the field in the 2nd half left me wondering.
