What we do on offense is 100% unique, and is the only chance at making any noise in the playoff (still incredibly slim chances there). If we can somehow convince a few elite level athletes to come to Utah and play tight end, and convince an elite level RB or two to come and play RB, we have a formula that is good enough to beat the elite teams of college football on the right night.

The strenght of the Pac12 doesn’t matter. TSPP doesn’t matter. The other P5 conferences don’t matter. None of it matters. There are maybe 5 elite teams in college football, and nobody else has any chance beating them in a playoff format unless they do something completely different than any other team, and catch the elite teams on an off night.

If we had a Rising type QB, a RB like the one OSU had tonight, and two guys like Kyle Pitts, we could contend with the elite teams with our unique brand of football. This is highly unlikely, but I could see our brand of football appealing to TE recruits. Maybe we get lucky and have a few home grown TE recruits that turn out to be elite. This style of football is our only chance. It’s unique, and because of that, most defenses aren’t built to deal with it. We are running that scheme with 3* players. If we can do it with 4* players, we will dominate the non-elite teams, and might have a shot against the big boys.
