      Before him it was Boobie Hobbs, who oddly enough played the same position. Mataele is sooo much worse than Guidry was.

        Maybe so, but Boobie was also a key part of one of the punt misdirection play against the Ducks in 2015. Gotta at least give him that cred!

        Yeah… Hobbs ended up becoming a decent player on defense, but he was not good for the majority of his time at the U.

  He plays a lot of Nickel Back. We have Broughton, Vaugh, Bishop, Ritchie, Isbel, etc. I dont believe there is a lot of room back there anyways.

        Is Ritchie all that good though? He seemed to be in the right position for a lot of plays, but a step or two behind all the time. I wasn’t disappointed with his play given his inexperience, but he wasn’t a standout performer. That’s obviously not bad considering he was so new… but Bishop and Vaki have not been that way. They’ve been making plays since day 1 pretty much.
