First I was at the Rose Bowl Stadium about 7 hours ago, got some Rose Bowl gear. Sadly couldn’t find the markers for Ty and Aaron. I think they may have been inside the A gate, not in the Rose Gardens outside. So didn’t get to see them. I was bummed.
So Southwest Airlines. We took the chance, after hearing last night today would be a normal day of flights/operations for Southwest. In fact it went better than expected. We were sheduled on a flight from LAX to Las Vegas, then on to Denver. When we got to the airport the gate right next to ours had a direct flight to Denver an hour earlier. We checked and were able to get on that flight so got home about 3 1/2 hours earlier. Will have to go to the airport tomorrow to pick up our one checked bag.
So happy we didn’t get stuck in a rental car for 13 plus hours cramped with two kids holding backpacks. And it would have been much worse than that. I-70 is closed up in the mountains and who knows when it will open back up, we would have hit that section late tomorrow.
Daughters are trying to head back to school but i-70 and I-80 are both close right now heading west. School starts Wednesday and they might be driving back on Tuesday. That will be nice, and not nice at the same time. We’ve had enough stress with travel I don’t want to have to face more. Me, cool as a cucumber knew it would work out all along. But the rest of the family… Nervous wrecks.
