We have a guy who did ours last year, and just put them up for us this year. He is just starting out (maybe 3rd year), but the prices have been reasonable. Initial year is going to cost more (you pay for the lights the first year), but installation for following years is fairly reasonable. For now, he is just doing this as a side business.

Last year’s prices (I don’t have this years prices): $1.75/ft for C7 incandescent lights – $3.00/ft for C9 LED lights. Cost to install htis year is $1.00/ft. These are the costs for clear white lights. They do have other colors available and I don’t thing the colors affect the cost. The costs include taking the lights down and storing them for the next year…
This is only our second year to have someone else do the lights, and so far, I am happy to not have to climb up on the roof to do them at all. I just have to flip the switch and they go on.
