Who else thought it’s a no biggie that USC is up 14-0?

  Most of the times, when Utah is trailing by at least 2 scores, it sucks the air out of me and I start preparing myself for a loss. Last night was different, though. Surely it sucked to be down by 14 points, but the outcome was never in doubt for me. On the contrary, I was feeling quite bullish.

    Once Utah responded with the quick score with Covey turning on the after burners and blazing to the end zone, I felt we were right back on track to win.

  Based on the fact USC’s offense really had no established part in those scores, I felt calm. Definitely no panic. Which is new.

  I’m often very jacked during the game, like I’ve had about 20 espressos. But even down 14 I was not nervous at all. I could tell we were more talented and better coached.

  I must admit that I was thinking it would be a long night when we were down 14-0. Admittedly, both scores were lucky scores, but I was afraid it would be difficult to come back from those two scores.
  
  USC is USC. Always loaded with talent (I was p**sed the O-line guy that scored on the TO was from Bingham High — we should get that recruit.).
  
  I’m glad I was wrong! We are starting to show resilience and poise, which we need as the season goes on. It was fun to see the Utes roll. I’m also very happy to see Utah going for at least a field goal near the end of the first half when we used to just run the clock out. It’s also refreshing to see Utah not “playing not to lose.” This is the best football I’ve seen Utah play in years.
