There’s a reason Zach was never a captain.

I was one of the fans who wanted Barnes gone. At the time I think many of us, me included, assumed Rising would come back at full strength and do what he did in 2021 and 2022. How many Ute fans didn’t drink that kool-aid?

According to analysts, we have an 11% chance of winning. To that I say, well, that’s half of 22%!

Everyone seems to have forgotten that the fanbase had pitchforks in hand at the end of the season, wanting Barnes gone.

I think it is hard to expect a young freshman to offer a ton of leadership. I think that may have been a plus if Bryson stayed – we all know he was no superstar but he likely inspired some confidence because he has been in the fight.

There is someone who posts on the Utah football subreddit who seems to be fairly well connected who said that they heard from multiple sources this last week that there is strife in the locker room and some “key players” have entitlement issues.

I miss guys like Bishop, Vaki, Vele etc. None of those dudes would go on social media and bitch like Singer and King did. Even if they felt that way. They’d handle it in-house. This is the most un-Whittingham team I’ve seen. The effort, attitude, accountability.

Meddling in what way? Deciding who should be paid what? Overruling other decisions?

I don’t know a lot about the NIL procedure honestly but wouldn’t the AD be heavily involved in negotiating those contracts/payments?

My grandpa served in WW2. And played at Utah in the 40s. I can just imagine if he was alive and watching. Ohhh boy. Even at 80 he was a BAMF.

At the start of the year, I anticipated a lot of late home game starts during conference play due to the fact that only 5 teams out of 16 are in the Mountain (zero in Pacific) time zone and it isn’t feasible to have the late slots go to teams in the Central and Eastern time zones.

I agree I would show Utah at 10:15 MT then nobody would need to watch. BYU is undefeated and ranked close to top 10. Why punish them?

Really Ghost, do you think we lose to ASU? Personally, I think the likeliest loss would have been to Zona, but that’s just me. I can definitely see a path for this team to be undefeated with regular, not outstanding, play from Barnes.

That’s exactly what I’ve been saying since Cam went out. There’s no leadership in this team on or off the field. Besides Bernard I haven’t seen anyone step up or give a damn.

There’s also a lot more clowning around and being cocky on the field than previous years I’ve seen. Thats also due to lack of leadership.
