      I was at that game, sitting in the student section. I remember a linebacker of ours DRILLING Covey. We cheered the ass kicking and the rest of the crowd cheered too. The rest of the crowd was cheering because we had intercepted Covey’s pass, but my friend and I were so wrapped up in the huge hit on Covey we didn’t realize we intercepted!

        i wish i could remember who it was but he drilled covey right in the chest. as i recall, byu was heading south and it was on the west side of the field maybe near midfield. BOOM a huge square hit right in his chest. i’ll think of who it was… give me a while

      IIRC, it was Eric Jacobson that drilled Covey. I thought he was a safety. Memory is a little fuzzy after all these years.
