Utah will win the B12 and play in the CFP this year if the Utes ______??
Here’s mine…..if the Utes keep Cam healthy all year long.
I have no doubt Cam is going to have a great year in terms of his production, he’s an absolute baller. Not worried at all about his knee. They have ACL surgery down to where athletes come back stronger with their repaired knee than their original one. We just need to protect Cam and make sure he protects himself by getting down or out of bounds and not risking his body to pickup the extra couple of yards. If we have a healthy Cam Rising for the entire season, Utah’s making their first CFP appearance this year.
*CR was healthy all of ‘21 outside that final quarter against tOSU….Again for most of ‘22….So he’s proven he can remain on the field for long stretches.
I agree—It all boils down to CR’s health.
Great catch D T, I updated my OP.
Unfortunately, he didn’t play all of 21 even though he was healthy. I still try to convince myself that his shoulder wasn’t quite right, so the coaches wanted to hold him out as long as they could because Brewer really was that bad. I know that’s probably not the case, but like I said, that’s the story I tell myself anyway.
Brewer is the second leading passer in Baylor history and was a hell of a player with the Bears. He should have just called it a day after Aranda ran him off.
Have a dominant run game
If the Utes can utilize their speedy running backs. Obviously Rising Kuithe healthy.
If we have a 1000 yard receiver.
Imagine what the run game could do if defenses legitimately had respect the receivers.
There are too many answers. Mine include:
1 – Cam Rising is back to 100% and stays healthy.
2 – Our offensive line improves.
3 – Our running backs can average 180+ yards per game.
4 – Our wide receivers can get open.
5 – Barton is healthy and ready to play.
6 – Our defensive backs do a better job in pass coverage.
7 – STAY HEALTHY!!!!!
Return to averaging 38 pts per game.
This might seem obvious, but everything that factors (game plan, playcalling, personnel) needs to align with more balance and aggressiveness, less predictability on offense.
When we’ve done this, we’ve won P12 championships. When we haven’t, we don’t.
