Is there a rules expert that can clarify something for me?

 

if a ball is tipped and there is a pi on the play the pi is negated.  But what if the pi occurs before the tipped ball??  Doesn’t that change how you’d handle that and the pi is no longer negated?

If the interference occurs before the tip they usually call a defensive holding penalty.
