Taking a break from work, I was reading an article tonight on the realignment on Utah high school football.

What the? Never knew this existed. I knew 7 on 7 was a thing, in a scrimmage sort of way. But 8?
Turns out it is true and evidently played competitively in Utah high schools (1A). Learn sumthin’ new…
30 states in the US have high school 8 man football.
It is not commonly know sport as it is typically played very rural areas with low population.
Yeah a lot of 8 team football up here in Idaho because of all the different towns and small schools. Gives kid a good chance to play football even at a small school.
If i remember right Jordan Gross played 8 man football in Fruiltland, ID.
We play 8- and 6-man high school ball in Oregon.
A combined team of students from high schools in Fossil, Mitchell, and Spray won the 6-man title this year.
Lost River High School outside of Merrill won the State 8-man title
