So far we’ve got 16 commits and it sounds like we only have a few spots remaining for this year’s class due to returning missionaries. I’m hoping our recruiting ranking can take another step forward this year and drop down into the low 20s. Or if all the stars aligned, break into the Top 20.
However, is this really possible given our limited number of available spots? And does anyone know how many more we can take? I’m just not sure if this year’s class can gain enough points from say 19 or 20 guys, when other teams are able to take as many as 26. Does anyone know?

Reading what OnlyU said a week or so about it, it seemed like we had about 5 spots open. He listed several guys that would put the Utes in I think he said #18 or 19 right now. I think 247 is now also counting transfers, so if Utah add Ilka, you got a 5 star right there.

Definitely hope we get Ika…that would be a huge get for our team. But I don’t understand how he would count towards the class of 2021 when he was originally part of the Class of 2019? I saw OnlyU’s post as well and if we closed this class off by getting guys like Ceyair Wright (high 4*), Logan Fano (4*), Cope Miaki (high 3*) and a couple of our 3* recruits get a bump up to 4* status that it would put us at Top 20 today. But I would think most teams around us right now, when they add their remaining 10 commits to their class would end up higher than us. But I don’t really know…just trying to figure it out.

That’s just it. His post would put us up there today. That can change. If everything went right and we got all of those guys, I’d bet we’d finish no less than 25.

Ika is a 4-star kid.  Not a 5-star one.  Don’t be like the zoobs, who are so insecure about their recruits that they automatically, arbitrarily promote their recruit by an additional star.

        Rivals:  https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2019/siaki-ika-181307

        A “5-star” kid grades out with a 6.1.  You’ll see Ika here grading out with a 5.9.  Not a “5-star”.

        247:  https://247sports.com/player/siaki-ika-46040395/

A “5-star” kid grades out over 0.9800.  You’ll see Ika here grading out at .9400.  Not a “5-star”.

It’s okay to go hard after 4-star kids.  There’s no need to exaggerate them.

Ok I thought he was a 5 star without checking the site first.
