I always wondered how good he could have been with Rich Rod.

        He’s a running back playing quarterback…

          So is Lamar Jackson.

Lamar can pass and is accurate. Tate can’t.

Jackson was 59% completion in college.

Rich Rod would have utilized Tate better than Sumlin is all I am saying. Sumlin somehow takes credit for Manziel. A coked out college boy who ran around and made plays at the college level?

Sumlin tried to turn Tate into a pocket passer. It would have been the same result for Jackson if Sumlin told him to do that in college. It would be the same result now if you told Jackson to not run.

I’m with you until that last sentence. Lamar has had 2 perfect qb ratings this season.

As a Baltimore Ravens sort of follower I am not big on him. His running will eventually catch up as defenses get film. He also isn’t very accurate imo.

I remember what ended RG3’s career. Haloti Ngata a freakishly huge and fast nose tackle catching him from behind and breaking RG’s game. He was never the same since then.  It definitely is anomaly what Jackson is doing. But he is not a pocket passer throw 35+ a game.
