I think we have some keen talent evaluators on staff now – I was pretty hyped watching some of the film on this kid – his raw athleticism seems off the charts

      BUT

I had no idea he was on that overtime show and once I watched it I have to believe that the OPs reservations could be valid. In the course of a season the kid had more than just ups and downs he had suspensions and was eventually removed from an incredible opportunity. Follow that up with an altercation at Auburn and we can only hope he has gotten some help, counseling and is ready to be part of a TEAM.

If he is we are getting an amazing talent – if not he may be the basketball version of Tavion Thomas. Interestingly enough his last coach at Overtime Elite is now on staff in Provo – I was impressed with the Overtime program and seems like having a guy like that in Provo can’t hurt.

I think you are right – I think for better or worse we are at the mercy of Kyle’s whims on whether or not he wants to come back at the end of each and every season. With that uncertainty it will be hard for us to recruit and keep top talent.

Kyle is the main reason we have become relevant but if he stays too long he could also be part of the reason we lose the hard fought relevance he gained for the program.

It’s time to turn the program over to someone else – most likely Morgan and let him build on the legacy that has been created – he will make mistakes but I think he will also infuse some much needed energy into the program as well.

Basketball is another story – I like the players we have now but we simply don’t have enough elite talent to compete in this conference on a consistent basis. We also lack a coach who can recruit top talent to this school. We can complain about NIL which is important but people also need to play for a coach who can get them where they want to go. Smith doesn’t seem to develop people into NBA talent.

We need major changes – Harlan should either grow some balls and pull off these bandages or move on – he has shown nothing for anyone to believe he can be a program builder in the major revenue sports –

I think it is hard to expect a young freshman to offer a ton of leadership. I think that may have been a plus if Bryson stayed – we all know he was no superstar but he likely inspired some confidence because he has been in the fight.

I always imagined our strong “leadership council” would be able to fill in the void left by an injured leader but evidently not all voices are the same.

I hope this team can just find a way to compete in 2 weeks – I have seen my share games where BYU blows us out – I would have never thought that would happen this year but in all honestly it seems likely as of today.

I think the list of teams that would want an 8th year starter who has had one year injury free might be about as long a list as the list of Kamala’s greatest achievements –

Fans are quite literally fanatics – by definition. it’s our jobs to be unapologetically irrational.

I think the coaches caused all the friction with their bullcrap “gametime decision” comments – that has inspired a ton of fan drama and heartburn

If Cam is cleared medically after being a game time decision – that allows fans to ask all sorts of questions of the staff.

I for one am hoping for a healthy Cam to light it up tomorrow – I hope he tries to get Singer the ball, keeps the TEs involved, that we don’t have to hope for another hero game from Bernard, that the running lanes open up enough for Mitchell to finally find a hole big enough he can actually hit it, that we can some how punch it in when in the redzone, that we remember we have 6 TEs that can catch the ball in the redzone, that we find a way to get our burners involved again (cue Stanley becoming part of the game plan again) and that we end the game without significant injuries to anyone. Oh yeah and that we remember how to defend the run……let’s not make an all-american against this skatabo guy

Did McMurphy saw what position he was playing – holder maybe? Fool me once…..game time decisions have made me realize I won’t believe it until he actually is in the huddle.

The one positive with Issac is Singer was targeted way more while he was playing. I am hoping for a healthy Cam who sees the whole field and uses talent like Singer as much as Issac tried to. I am still waiting for the Ferrari type offense we saw in the Baylor first quarter to manifest itself for a whole game……

      Is this the week

I know i have been guilty of feeling down and depressed – 2 weeks to sit on a loss does that for sure. Playing well Friday night will likely cure all.

The best thing to do when you can’t do the basics is to make it harder – put guys in positions they aren’t usually – stupid, stupid, stupid – the wildcat tonight has netted about -15 yards it seems.

We have to do better – I am just not confident that we can

Can you imagine if Becker was having an off night – we are lucky that one elemenet is going well tonight

Couldn’t agree more – how can we look this unprepared – we came out of the bye week worse than when we went in …. how is that possible?

I agree that NIL seems like a huge missing piece – it was a killer to lose our triple double machine due to NIL issues. I keep wondering who our Ryan Smith type hero will be – seems like the Eccles / Huntsmans are getting older and older and I wonder who is going to fill their shoes one day when it comes to donations etc.
