I missed it. Did Rangel get hurt on that long run?

i’d say it’s more about refocusing coming out of the bye. Rangel looked pretty bad against Utah.

and another pick by the parochial school. “get points before the half and then start with the ball after the break. could be a two score swing,” he said fully knowing that statement is no more profound than anything spouted by a talking head.,,

Confidence is contagious?
I don’t want to embarrass myself by misremembering psych 101 but when you start believing that you can do something instead of just wanting to, you can accomplish a lot

ARod pulls a Ludwig. Offense has barely been stopped but felt the need to have a RB throw the ball.
And then okie gave it right back. Talk about getting rewarded for something silly

spoke too soon. Ollie Gordon had more yards on that drive than any game this season

UCF put in their freshman QB last week and he played better than what they were getting. It’ll be tough but that was a top 10 offense last year with a bad QB running it this year. Some regression to the mean + an off week for ISU might be enough but I’d have to say Baylor and UCF are the least likely outcomes, even if they provide the most help.

Some teams need to lose for Utah to get into the CCG with two losses. And it might as well start this week. Best outcome for Utah in bold for this weeks Big-12 games:
Oklahoma State at parochial school
Central Florida at Iowa State
Kansas State at West Virginia
Arizona State at Cincinatti
Houston at Kansas – does not matter
Colorado at Arizona…[Read more] -

I agree with your thoughts except for one thing, and it seems to pretty common. People keep referring to 10, 20 sometimes even 30 years ago. And for me it’s one of the many times in life that two things can be true at the same time.
You can always pick out an arbitrary point in the past to compare your current situation to and have it be…[Read more]

I put the smiley to show that I was joking about the straw man argument / hyperbole. Not everything we say to each other on here needs to be treated as a declaration of war.

12-0 every year is a strawman argument. You’re better than that
I think you need to have two things to attract 2nd tier talent consistently which is something Utah currently aspires to:
1 – You need to be a place kids want to play. I define that as consistently winning more than you lose, competing for conference championships regularly, and a…[Read more]

Luther had ~ 10 years of coaching experience before coming back. Ganther has coached elsewhere. I’m not against former Utah players per se. But only if they have proven themselves as coaches first. Utah football shouldn’t be a jobs program.

2008 National Champ replied to the topic My dream coaching staff in the forum Football 8 months, 3 weeks ago
There’s a lot of good coaches out there. Might want to look a little deeper than just former Utah players that in some cases, have ZERO coaching experience. Let alone filling up a staff with those types.
And how do you think Rowe would work with Scalley? Wasn’t he the leader of the “Scalley is a racist” movement once the texts became public?

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Ludwig in the forum Football 8 months, 3 weeks ago
contact on a rub route is okay as long as the receiver “acts” like he tried to avoid it. that was a great call poorly executed.
Ludwig has good plays at his disposal. He just doesn’t use them. Run the exact same play again. Flip the formation and immediately run the same play to the other side. Line up in the same formation and run a counter…[Read more]

possibly this week per reports but you know who is being coy about it. if he’s dressed this week in pre-game, he probably plays but I’m trying not to invoke the dreaded GTD.

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Teams that would want Cam in 2025 in the forum Football 8 months, 3 weeks ago
if potentially bringing someone in makes Wilson even think about transferring, then you have to do it. Otherwise you create the exact same situation Utah is currently in. Wilson could go down on any play and not having a qualified backup is always unacceptable.
It is now a professional sport in everything but name and needs to be treated as…[Read more]
