Or… instead of all these conspiracy theories, maybe he actually DOES look better than Ficklin. I’m not saying Wilson at QB2 is a good thing even if he is the better of the two, but there is always a possibility that (the guys with the most information about which one is better) the coaches know more than (those who have essentially zero information about which one is better) us about who should be QB2.

Tbh I can’t recall a season, at least in the social media era, where the vibe wasn’t good…even years where Utah finished with a losing season (thinking 2012 or 2013).

It certainly wasn’t good the last 2 years. It’s one thing to say it’s there. Another to back it up. If you can’t back it up it wasn’t there to begin with. Last two years the vibe has been over confidence, injuries, turmoil and bad coaching. I loved the vibe going in to last season didn’t turn out. My vibe is these things have been corrected and the players are hungry to prove last year was an anomaly.

I try to always listen to the first hour of the Hans and Scotty G show on KSL sports. They’ve got insider info on all 3 Utah programs, and Hans was in the NFL so he can tell me lots of stuff I don’t know.

Not a lot of shows have both insider info and dudes who have played serious football themselves.

It goes at noon Mountain Time. I get it on YouTube, but I’m sure it’s in other places, too. Too many ads after the 1st hour.

During the season, I think they also do a Sunday morning postgame recap, too.

I like the vibe! Appears team confidence is high, coach’s are motivated, amazing venue to start out!

Wilson got a big piece of humble pie last year. The golden child was just another player on the team. It took him a year to figure it out. It affected the locker room. It would have been much easier for him to start over somewhere (obviously he didn’t get a ton of offers)else. I give him credit for staying and taking his lumps from his teammates and fans. I don’t see him as a running QB except escaping the rush or an occasional bootleg. Forcing him to get rid of the ball quick in a spread field should help his passing. Wilson couldn’t handle 10-15 runs per game he would be destroyed.

I agree he would get destroyed last year. I’m not sure what his body looks like this year.

Terrible. Just the motivation UCLA needs. Hopefully they don’t see that headline. Bad journalism.

If you like the show, keep watching it, but here’s the title of one of the most recent Locked On Utes videos: “HUGE: Utah Utes will DESTROY Nico Iamaleava, UCLA Bruins in Season Opener”. The thumbnail on the video is the words “DOMINANT WIN?” over a picture of Dampier. This is not journalism.

Also, I think the “Locked On Podcast Network” has some policy that all their podcasts must make half their episodes about byu. If you look up Locked On Utes, 2 of the 3 most recent videos show the coaches, players, and logo of that team down south more prominently than anything related to Utah.
