Vaki and Bishop will be starting safeties. That’s been a pretty consistent message from those in the know. Tao and Snowden are battling for NB.

That could be interpreted different ways.
This was touched on in the hypothetical thread, but since Cam plays at a position that only requires him to be 80% to play and Brant is at a position that requires 95% to play, there is room to interpret a situation where Brant is ahead on recovery (90%) but Cam plays at 80% and Brant doesn’t play.
Or…[Read more]

Agree here. I think Utah pulls a transfer this next cycle, and I think we’ll be in a position to attract some talent. It’ll be interesting to see how that shakes out…

My understanding (because this question has popped up else where over the last couple of months) is that the program did look for a transfer QB but there wasn’t a lot of interest. I imagine a lot of that has to do with how they wanted to use NIL resources vs a program like Ole Miss. I also have to imagine that they were looking for the right…[Read more]

You think a quality QB is going to transfer over to keep Cam’s seat warm?
mfaulk80 replied to the topic Crimson Club lunch recap in the forum Football 8 months, 3 weeks ago
I was questioning the OP, not you.
I’ve seen a few summaries of the luncheon, and all of the other summaries mention him as starting at OT. Now, I’ve seen both RT and LT, but this is the first that I’m seeing OG.

Did he actually say RG? That doesn’t jive with what I’ve heard elsewhere….though I’ve heard that he was battling for a starting spot.

I think those numbers are skewed. Are they using all players at the position? Projected starters:
DE – Florida: 6’5″ 254 & 6’3″ 253″ (2nd DE would’ve been 6’4″ 263, but he just tore his ACL)
DE – Utah: 6’4″ 260 & 6’4″ 251
DT – Florida: 6’6″ 371 & 6’3″ 325
DT – Utah: 6’3″ 310 & 6’3″ 330
Granted, both positions have a rotation and starters…[Read more]

You may realize this, but thought I’d point it out given the comparison between Munir and DK. Munir moved back to WR this spring. He can still fill the role in a way, but likely from the outside…

We have depth at DE (which is what Whitt had commented on). We are thinner than they like at DT, and I’ve heard that from multiple sources. I don’t think it’s necessarily meant as a motivating factor. We usually rotate 5 or 6 guys in at DT. The concern is injury. Pepa was out all of spring with a leg issue, and it may be that he’s not fully…[Read more]

Not bad, but no Mycah Pittman or Emery Simmons; Connor likely over Jonah; no Levani Demuni; and Battle isn’t going to be 3rd string…
There are a couple others that I’ve heard things on, but less definitive.

There were many key games where he was hardly used because he wasn’t the lead back until Tavion did his thing (much of which hasn’t been openly discussed). Him not playing much against Oregon had more to do with Tavion coming back after having some issues earlier in the season. Once Tavion put himself out of the picture completely (after the…[Read more]

Rose Bowl preview on Penn State site:
“Jackson has seen his share of carries increase dramatically in Utah’s last five games. A former quarterback, Jackson has rushed for 25 fewer yards than Bernard on the year but on 30 fewer attempts. Jackson’s 6.9 yards per rush is the best among Utes with at least 50 carries. He averages nearly four yar…[Read more]
