  • I was around for the late 70s and all of the 80s. Tough years but those teams were picked nowhere near the top of the WAC in pre-season predictions. Given they were predicted to win the Big12 and make the playoffs, the collapse of this team is rather a disappointment. But I’ll still be cheering for them. As always a Utah man sir and will be…[Read more]

  • At the start of the year, I anticipated a lot of late home game starts during conference play due to the fact that only 5 teams out of 16 are in the Mountain (zero in Pacific) time zone and it isn’t feasible to have the late slots go to teams in the Central and Eastern time zones.

Back in the Pac 12 those late games could be assigned to any of…[Read more]

59-34 sounds better than 7-13 at this point

More chaos plays by the defense would help. Only non-offensive TD has been the blocked field goal return. Usually by now our defense has had a few scores.

  • I can’t remember which exact game (was a few years ago). But Utes were on a long drive (combination of passes and successful runs) and were down at about the five yard line right in front of us in section 33. They run a reverse and lose a lot of yards and I couldn’t help but cry out “A REVERSE!?!?!?”

  • Could get very ugly. The transfer from Real Madrid (hoops not soccer, and they are a damned good professional basketball squad considered to be one of the very best European teams) will likely be paid far more in Provo then he made with his former team.

College sports, in particular hoops, are going to be about which schools have donors/sponsors…[Read more]

Rather hard to believe that Singer has zero touchdowns so far this season.

“You mean there is still a chance”? Was a line near the end of Dumb and Dumber. Even if we win out to go 9-3, virtually zero chance we are in the Big12 title game.

AS this point I’m just hoping for a .500 year and a Holy War contest that doesn’t bring back bad memories of the 80s (including a rainy 50 point drubbing in Salt Lake). But I…[Read more]

Indeed while necessary for the school to expand, it was unfortunate losing the golf course which once was 18 holes and part of the PGA.

  • Seeing fewer “chaos plays” (sacks, TFL, turnovers, etc.) this season. And starting to look like our streak of a pick-six every season is in jeopardy.

But as has been the case with many of our tougher seasons, defense is doing everything they can to try to keep the ship afloat.

  • Indeed I think of the time when a few years after Zona and ASU left the WAC to join the PAC, Utah signed a deal with ASU to play FIVE games in Tempe (and zero in Salt Lake) to collect some $$$$$ for our athletic department (which shows how far ahead of us they were at the time.) And we didn’t win a single one game, getting blown out in most of them.

  • Quite possible that had Aaron played for Utah one season, that he possibly would have looked to tran$$$$fer looking for more NIL cash the next season anyway.

Love hockey but uneasy about Ryan’s DEEEP pockets and love of his alma mater with essentially no salary cap when it comes to NIL $$$$.

  • As 2020 didn’t count for eligibility, Ty potentially would have been a senior this season, but also quite possible he would be playing on Sunday by now.

  • Just have one game to be concerned about this week which is the return of TCU (who slapped us around a few times before we parted ways).

Need to find some confidence in the red zone and need more stops and chaos plays on defense.

Fans need to be supportive and loud to let the team know we are behind them.

I’ll be there and do my share to make Rice-Eccles loud this weekend.

  • Possibly they agreed that as a unit, they are playing well below their talent and abilities and it’s time they stopped feeling sorry for themselves about injuries, tough decisions by the officials, and results just not going as we expected heading into the season, and that it is time to buckle up and play harder and better.

I say if we are ahead against Iowa State and able to take the V formation, have Cam come out to take the knee. Other than that his time is done.

Will never forget his performance against USC a few years ago.

  • Everyone spending the big $$$$ to attend games has the freedom to act how they want, but it would help if we have a supportive crowd Saturday, cheering the players and team and not getting down on them if they are having a rough time.

Not going to help at all if we boo them off the field at halftime if we are down. Isaac needs to know we…[Read more]

Massive pressure from fans demanding the return of Cam Rising (only to be hurt within a few plays) made it difficult to pull him. If they had put Isaac in and he struggled, some fans would have been screaming about it.

    Damn I hate injuries.
