  Utah is averaging 450 yards offense per game and only giving up 252. That is 198-yard per game difference. That is crazy. I thought I would compare this to the 2004 team. In 2004 we averaged 499 yards per game and gave up 343 for a 156 yard per game difference. That was against MWC competition. The difference in 2008 (against better competition) was only 111 yards per game. I doubt we will keep up the nearly 200 yard per game difference, but I think it could be close.

  That is pretty crazy. That ’04 team was involved in a lot of blowouts that I’m sure skewed the stats somewhat, but still that’s impressive.

    The 04 team had a respectable defense, but not even close to what we have this year.

  Looking at other teams:
  
  BYU 1984 National Championship team had a difference of 164 yards per game (mostly bad WAC teams)
  
  Alabama this season has 192-yard per game difference
  
  Last year’s Clemson team had an amazing 242 yards per game difference. I know that the ACC is not strong, but that is crazy.
