  I recall last week’s coaches had Okla 8, Utah 9. AP and CFP had Okla 9, Utah 8. Minnesota jumped Utah by beating Penn St, and Penn St fell below Utah. Alabama loses at home and only falls 3 places. Basically the Coaches want a rematch of LSU-Alabama in the semi-final game — that is a joke!

  How much should the #3 team in the country be punished for losing to the #2 team in the country by less than a touchdown? Seems to me like Bama is right where they should be.

    Typically teams fall at least 5-6 places after losing. Granted they were playing a higher ranked team, so a loss would be expected — however, they were nearly blown out at home until LSU let up in the 4th Q. So a better loss than losing to KSU or USC on the road, so I’d say they should be around 6-7. 4 is saying Alabama and LSU should play again in the semi-final — do we really think they need to play again to tell that LSU is the better team?

    The score did not show the dominance of LSU. Alabama did not look like they even belonged on the same playing field. A fluke runback and a fluke missed tackle when in prevent defense made the game much closer than it was. LSU vs Alabama looked like Utah vs BYU. If any other top 10 team looked that bad they would drop at least out of the top 10 and likely the top 15.

      Our Utes didn’t look great, either, for 2.5 quarters against unranked UW.

        Utah adjusted and easily won. The Washington final score didn’t reflect the actual game. Same as the LSU game they basically outplayed and controlled the game. I don’t know about belonging on the same field not a massive disparity but Bama couldn’t stop LSU’s offense like I predicted.

        I may have been a bit overdramatic in the language. I will say Alabama looked outmatched throughout the game. There was never a question of who was the better team, in my view, throughout the game.
        
        By comparison, the Pedd State game was back and forth. Teams looked like they could be either one pull it out and if anything Minnesota was lucky to walk away with the win.
        
        If Pedd State looked like Alabama against an unbeaten team they would be out of the top 10.
        
        Oregon looked like the better team through 3 quarters of their loss. They traveled to that game almost 1/2 the number of miles that Alabama will travel all season.
        
        Clemson was beat up for not looking good enough in a win. Notre Dame was laughed at and it was said they shouldn’t have made the playoffs for losing to Clemson by less than Alabama did.
        
        Alabama remaining in the top 5 just proves the bias.

        Agreed @Warriorute. Bama has won for so long and has a ton of talent that it is hard to not keep them in the top ten or even top five.

    Alabama was behind the entire game…start to finish, on their home field, by a team they had beaten 8 times in a row. If a PAC12 team did that it would result in a substantially greater drop…yes, even if it was LSU.
