UCLA is a bit hard to pin down. They started out 0-3 with a crushing loss to Oklahoma (down 34-7 at the half–ouch!), But, those losses came to teams that are all ranked and currently have four losses between them. Then came the 67-63 win over WSU followed by a three-point loss to Arizona. It seems like the wheels were about to come off when they lost big (17 points!) to Oregon State.
But instead of crashing, the OSU loss seems to have flipped the switch for Bruins. They followed up that loss with convincing wins over Stanford (34-16), ASU (42-32) and Colorado 31-14. The past month they have really been rolling.
To me, they look like a young, talented team that is starting to figure things out. I just don’t think they are good enough to to beat this focused Utah team, but they are just dangerous enough to make this game exciting in the first half. I’m picking Utah 35-17.
