and then gave up a 3rd and 15, from the 18 yard line(!), OVER THE TOP down 3 with 3 minutes left. Played straight man press with no help. The only thing that loses you the game there is giving up that pass. Given time score and location its really a ridiculous thing to give up. Absolutely horrible play call by the DC.
Be curious to see how many of wilsons yards came from passes behind or within a few yards of the LOS on screens. Id guess about 90-120.
Houston is solid. Any decent offense good defense team should beat them though. Wildly overpursue on any sort of misdirection and have no idea that screen passes exist even if you run 10 of them. No gap or space discipline. Credit byu coaching staff for giving that blueprint to their future opponents
