I thought i saw it rewatching the game last night, and this tweet confirmed it. His first sack is the first play on this reel, ending the game with back to back sacks. Only credited with 2.
If he establishes himself as a runner than it is a rush attempt. Like for instance the Wildcat. Or against Air Force or Georgia Tech. You get a lot of TFL’s and very little sacks. Basically it is the intention to throw a pass. Daniels was also outside the tackle box.
I could be wrong though. But it is always how I interpreted it.
QB intent determines if it is a TFL or a Sack. If the QB intended to pass, it is a sack, even if he decided to run after getting pressured. If the QB was attempting to run on a QB draw or a read option and gets tackled behind the line, it is a TFL.
