  SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah men’s basketball team resumes Pac-12 play, opening the Bay Area swing with a visit to the California Golden Bears tonight on Pac-12 National/Bay Area/Mountain.
  
  The Runnin’ Utes look to open conference play 3-0 for the first time since 2014-15 (4-0). Utah hopes to make it four-straight against Cal, three-straight for head coach Craig Smith.

  Both these games are must wins for Smith and his future at Utah.
  
  Cal and Stanford are absolutely terrible teams and Smith needs to show his team has made progress and not lose to bad bad teams.

        Stanford has a heartbeat & it’s in Palo Alto.
        
        Cal would be disastrous.
