      Utes roll in at #25 in CBS rankings to start the season. Phil Steele and Joel Klatt also have Utah in their top 25.

      From the article: “No. 25 Utah (+59): Our voters are clearly expecting a return to form for Kyle Whittingham’s program, bouncing back from last year’s 5-7 showing to be right back in the mix for the Big 12 title. Some more consistent availability at the quarterback position will be a welcome start, with Devon Dampier arriving from New Mexico to be the centerpiece of a re-tooled offense.”

      It’s a testament to how much goodwill the program has built, because based on the body of work of our team recently there is absolutely no reason for us to even break the 30s, possibly the 40s. I’m optimistic that we can end the season ranked higher.

      Utah has a history of being able to leverage their own experience and toughness against more talented teams. *IF* Utah stays healthy I think we can win every game. Will we? I’d give it almost no chance of happening, but assuming Chris Peterson stays retired there are no games on the schedule where it’s a likely loss. Of all the teams that make me nervous, all but Baylor are at home.
