I told my family last night we should have lost by 48 points. I was actually happy the D and ST kept us in that game. Offense, well other than one drive you were anemic. I may get trashed for this, but Huntley is really good in the pocket, once he leaves, he never resets his feet for any throws and relies on his speed to get around the corner. In the Pac 12 his speed isn’t enough, defenders got shoe string tackles at least three times yesterday for huge losses. And the throw back across his body for the INT. Come on! Really?
If he would have a solid pocket, which the O line seems to do well on pure passing plays, he’d be much better. But the RPO is killing our OL, too many ineligible man down field. Plus blocking the run, and pass when Huntley scampers out of the pocket seems to be causing the OL to lose their blocking angles.
While I’m happy we only lost by 8 I’m not sure about this offense. I think we need a few less RPOs and a few more straight runs, or straight passes.
