with execution that would make a schizophrenic seem stable, is that we probably gained multiple additional seasons with troy Taylor. Admittedly this requires the belief that troy is/will be a good OC. but I think most saw the ingredients for a very good offense as the season went on.

Taylor’s career was/is on a rocket like trajectory and had he came in and transformed a Utah offense that was imprisoned in a s**t cycle, he would have been snatched up VERY quickly. Some desperate g5 would have offered him HC, we would have had to deal with installation of yet another completely different system, and the setback it would mean for Huntley and co. Also the pain from watching the first good OC we found after 9 tries in 9 years walk would have been brutal
its crazy and is selfish as hell but it’s an idea I floated more than once last off-season. I want(ed) troy to be great, just not great right away. That way we get to enjoy him for a little while

Troy Taylor was a coach at Cal and went to the high school ranks for more stability.

Im not sure Taylor has one foot out the door looking for a head coaching job.

It wouldn’t shock me if we got his salary over 1 million per year, if he’d like to just coach offense and QB’s for a long time.

I am still holding my breath on TT. He has several things to fix and we might see improvement with the bowl game.

In fact I will say Utah must improve for the bowl game. Huntley needs to get back that accuracy and hand off to Moss more.

not being sold on him is reasonable at this point. He has a lot of room for improvement too. I think we saw some of it from a playcallung standpoint as the year went on

My only concern is that he did better with TWilliams than Huntley. Eliminating the RPO side of his offense.

Huh? Lol. No, he did not. We were much better offensively against Washington than Colorado.

With Moss controlling the tempo is what Utah Football needed all year. Look at the control demonstrated against USC and Stanford.

Personally I believe Washington was a statistical aberration for their defense. Was it TT genius or Huntley balling out is my question at this point.
