The last decade or so has been so wonderful. I’d literally blocked them out of my mind. They didn’t even exist. Now? Bla.

Oh fuck…that might force me to activate my Plan B (move back to Montana) sooner rather than later…

During the last few episodes of the “Locked on Utes” podcast, there’s been way, way more BYU fans posting comments than anyone else. It’s the usual BS from their point of view. What is the deal here? Never seen anything like it.

I have and hope he succeeds. It would close an inequity in how eligible years are counted that was created through the Covid year and transfer requirements. I’m not sure how many kids it would actually help based on the new rules but the point about Bo Nix and Dillon Gabriel getting 5 full seasons as starting QB’s while he in only able to do 3…[Read more]

You’re lucky you’ve only had a BB game and FB game to change your way of thinking. The 70s and 80s were unbearable. It’s calmed down since we joined pac 12 and they went independent. “They’re back” describes it to a tee. It will get worse.

The funny thing is that if they lose against Kansas, a classic trap game because they’re away to ASU is next week and they’ve just expended a massive amount of psychic energy in the game versus Utah, it wouldn’t surprise me to see them lose every remaining game in their schedule.

What’s funny about this is that visiting fans can’t get alcohol, and yet BYU fans are probably telling them in advance that Ute fans will throw beer on them!

BYU fans are believing this. I have a BYU fan friend and neighbor who basically told me the same thing.

Jim, thanks for your comments. That’s been my experience as well. I live in a cul-de-sac in southern Davis County where my family is the only non-Mormon/Mormon background one in the block. They are all good, thoughtful people, even the ones that went to BYU. That was pretty much my experience with LDS people until the BYU basketball game last…[Read more]

It’s not coping. It’s showing all the overtly negative Nellie’s that things can change quickly. I understand why we are here and the mistakes made. I’m a realist but also try to keep some rational optimism.

If that’s the case, we can probably expect a few bogus flags this weekend. Kind of glad that personal requirements will keep me from watching the game.

Miami I lived in Salt Lake my whole life. We moved to Holladay in the early 60s and lived here ever since. We were the only non Mormon family in several blocks. The religion has always been strange to me but the people have been great neighbors and friends. It taught me to judge others by actions not religion. I wouldn’t change anything and I…[Read more]

Have you seen Diego Pavia’s (Vanderbilt QB) suit against the NCAA? Really interesting…he’s trying to make the case that age or time-related eligibility requirements in NCAA competitions are unconstitutional. If he won, which is not a given, it could mean that a guy like Cam Rising could keep playing, should he want to, at the U forever without…[Read more]

Based on the selection criteria the Big 12 still seems like the best path to the CFP for Utah right now. I have confidence that things will be righted. The defense is still a top in the country and Utah just needs an average offense to be very competitive.
Right now I think the Big 12 would love to see a CU vs BYU conference championship game.…[Read more]

that’s an interesting coping technique. why even have a season? just let the fans decide the outcome they want and then there’s no reason to play the games.

I left all the BIg12 online groups back in September and have never looked back as they weren’t much better than CB. Way too much of a BYU representation and many of them seem to want Utah to be the most hated team in the conference. I’ve noted here before that with all the ‘beer’ stories, the biggest disappointment some fans may have when…[Read more]

Ghost, or anyone else who might know:
What’s up with the reported “team chemistry” issues with Wilson? Is he playable at this point, both due to this supposed issue and his health? I’m hoping these things have been blow out of proportion by the rumor mill, especially since he is one of our two remaining QBs for the year.

It’s so true. If Rising (I know I know) stays healthy OR we had brought in a competent veteran QB transfer, very good chance we’d be like 8-1. R E L A X
