I’ll be there and do my share to make Rice-Eccles loud this weekend.

Again, let’s all pump the brakes and see how Wilson and the rest of the season goes before worrying about a BYU commit’s comments. Jeez.

Utah#1 replied to the topic Players only meeting? in the forum Football 8 months ago
When Urban Meyer was coach at Utah for the two years, he said the players held an only players meeting, and as result from that meeting, Urban said the players made a team promise to each other that they were going to ball out for themselves and for Urban realizing how much Urban really carried about them. I believe that team meeting was held in…[Read more]

The Utah football issue is squarely on Whitt! His biggest failure the past two seasons was keeping injuries, especially Cam’s in the dark and it affected the team and the fanbase, and spilled over into the media. He didn’t manage it properly and let it get out of control resulting in two straight losses to the AZ schools. Can Utah win the next…[Read more]

I’m missing the low blow that I apparently made?
In soccer when a player gets injured, the other team kicks the ball back to them once play resumes. It’s called sportsmanship. In MLB, they routinely stop play to celebrate records. Or put a retiring player into the field for half and inning so that the manager can take him out and the home…[Read more]

Thanks for all your input 👻
You think there’s any validity to the “Isaac is likely going to transfer due to how poorly our coaching staff (mainly Whitt and Lud) have handled the QB situation each week.” -

The leg injury occurred on the first series. He went from almost healthy to not healthy. If you can’t push off your back foot it’s hard to get velocity. Add in the gripping the ball issues and the low throws are the results.

key words being “we went away”. The interesting thing to me is that Ludwig called the ASU game exactly like I said above. Or Rising checked into those types of plays. Either way, there were a lot of quick passes that just needed better execution.

UM4G replied to the topic OFFICIAL: Wilson will be the starter in the forum Football 8 months ago
If he chooses to stay, then Whitt needs to make it clear that he is not the incumbent starter, it will be a QB battle and if it’s even close Wilson will get the nod. Also reduce his NIL, if he stays great if he doesn’t then I wish him the best. I can’t pretend Rising as a backup that isn’t getting banged up every week and could step in when needed…[Read more]

This (“team built around one player”) is a bad take that I have seen often over the past several days. Every football team offense is built around the quarterback. And, what you are calling “building around one player” is typically called adding weapons to the offense.
Yes, the team was anticipating a healthy Rising, and they were delivering on…[Read more]

It’s not a players only meeting if it is being reported back to the coaches. That would only further divide the team if they thought their words could be held against them.

It can help the offense if IW gets more reps and experience and isn’t unexpectedly thrown in seconds before kickoff. Also gives the offense more time to get used to his timing, cadence, throws etc.

Is OC Ludwig or someone in local sports media? I’m outside of Phoenix so I don’t always get the references.

I agree Holladay. Heat of the moment comments. Let things play out this year and if he’s unhappy he should transfer. I don’t see Whitt coming back or Ludwig ( game time decision) and either the team rallies around Scalley and moves forward or you get some major portal losses.

Wilson’s parents were notified the night before OSU that there was a high chance Isaac was the guy. So it wasn’t entirely out of the blue 20-minute decision but still handled poorly if you’re trying to set up a true freshman to succeed.

Sometimes I wonder if we are all watching the same games. Because the conclusions that come out of them are so completely different. Someone the other day likened the Utah offense the first half of the Baylor game to a Ferrari. And all I could think of was that 13 of the 23 points were created by the defense.

Surely can’t make it any worse. Make no mistake, an almost healthy Rising is better than Isaac all day long. But, we’re not there and probably never be…Isaac is the best shot we have to see some competent play out of the QB position.
