  I’m playing spam bot whack-a-mole this week. Each bot or spam account that is discovered I delete (obviously) and then I add them to global spam list which is used by this site and thousands of others.

  Any coincidence that the site gets bombarded with bots the day the BYU quarterback is in the news for sexual assault? They send out the zoob squad?

  I wonder if there is like an AI based tool or solution or something that can auto do this, like some open source thing on Github?

    I’m using a paid plugin that analyzes every new user registration and compares the email against blacklists, and also examines each new post/reply and blocks spam. It isn’t 100% accurate, and when spam gets through I mark it so the engine can improve. True AI would be great and hopefully that’s coming soon.
