Honestly, she was a no brainer choice for the Supreme Court. She’s perfect for it. She’s incredibly intelligence, fair, moderate, etc. The only real controversy about her nomination is the way the GOP did it. But anyone with a shred of intellectual honesty cant with a straight face say she’s not worthy or qualified to be a Supreme Court justice. Anyone who does is just a partisan shill.
She’s been a judge for LESS THAN 3 YEARS! Let this timeline sink in: she’s been an appellate judge for slightly longer than the Utes have been South Division champs…
How many years of bench experience did Kagan have?
Kagan served as Solicitor General prior to her Supreme Court nomination. I understand your point, but I’m still surprised there’s not a policy requiring extensive judicial experience before anyone is appointed to the Supreme Court by either party.
ACB is plenty experienced for this position. The fact of the matter is an appellate level justice (e.g. a scotus justice) isn’t a technically complex position that requires managing complex calendars or cases or even facts like say a trial court judge.
What it does require is being intelligent, able to conduct legal research, and ability to articulate the legal position being taken. Indeed, raw intelligence is a better qualifier for an appellate justice than bench experience.
Kagan had never tried a case when made Solicitor General by Obama, and 15 months later on to the Supreme Court as first time as a judge. Experience paragraph could be left of resume.
Even more notorious once she’s forever associated with the sham that sparked an over haul of the entire federal court system. With The House and Senate, and a Dem in the White House they’ll do it. Trump has f**ked the entire party, and they deserve it for hitching up go that s**t wagon.
