What a blow.  Truly one of the very best things about college football.
His enthusiasm, optimism, the random tangents, the snark.  All of it was such a welcome divergence from the boring coach speak.  He will be missed.

Until about a minute ago, I had no idea Mike Leach was LDS and a BYU alum. Shows what I know.

According to this he grew up LDS and got a BA from BYU before grad school at Pepperdine.

He may not have always been a regular church attender, but he definitely was a baptized member of the Church of Jesus Christ from his youth. His son even served a full-time mission.
