As a kid growing up in the sixties I was obsessed with pro football, basketball and baseball was king. With no local team to root for I had to look outside Utah. The Packers (Vince Lombardi) Yankees (Mickey Mantle) and never adopted a BB team. Choices were Celtics,Lakers or 76ers. I liked West, Chamberlain and Russell but didn’t like the teams. Boston should have been the easy choice. It was amazing watching your teams win every year.

My grandparents were farmers in Lasalle Colorado. Every Thanksgiving we would visit my grandparents. Everyone watched the Broncos win or lose they supported them. I was impressed with the support for a losing team. I became a Broncos fan. I recommend having two teams. One in each division. That way if you get to the Super Bowl you can’t lose. Of course I became a Jazz fan and would be a fan of any local team.

I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. I think his take is that everyone generally knows who the key players are and the only thing that really changes from week to week will be due to injuries so the injurie report basically covers both. We know that Dampier is going to be QB and they announced that Wilson will be QB2. Most likely it will be Parker at RB, but it could be Rogers, either way, they will both be rotating in and out along with 2 or 3 others. The line is pretty much set in stone with captains Kump and Fano, along with Lomu, Togiai, and Mokofisi. Tight end is almost surely Bentley, but like RB, I expect a lot of rotation with Andrews and it sounds like JJ had a great fall camp as well, and we’ve heard that Otto Tia and even Lander will get some time in there. We may not know the exact order of receivers, but again, they will rotate around and it will be usual suspects from week to week. News out of camp is that Merriweather had an outstanding camp, we can assume Davis will get a start with his history at NM with Beck and Dampier, and word from Fall camp is that Simmons was a great addition. Of course Zipperer and Caldarella will frequently rotate in. We’ve also heard that Snowden may see some snaps on offense and Nate Johnson may be all over the field. I could give the same rundown on defense, but the point is that we may not know exactly who is going to be on the field at the first snap of each game but we know (or will know very soon) who is going to consistently be on the field, and the only thing that will change that is injuries. The fact that I can even provide a fairly comprehensive depth chart that wasn’t as clear even two weeks ago illustrates that information is still flowing from the team even if there isn’t an official depth chart published.

Dampier tears his meniscus in warm ups, the “new and improved” Wilson takes 8 seconds in the pocket and throws a pick 6. Ficklin has already transferred out because he can’t believe Wilson was chosen over him and Whittingham is on the phone with the NCAA and Bottari’s agent by the second play to see if they can approve another year.

As someone once said “YOUR A REAL RAY OF SUNSHINE ON A CLOUDY DAY”.

Man, I hope they didn’t fly to Logan. I bet that would actually be slower. Time in the air will be quick, but they’ve got to drive to and from the airports. Rice-Eccles is 15 minutes from SLC and Maverik Stadium is 10 minutes from Logan-Cache. Then there’s so much gear transfer from bus to plane to bus. Just driving Rice-Eccles to Maverik Stadium is 90 minutes.

If somebody knows for sure, I’m now curious

It’s more about the market, not about having local billionaires.

The Broncos are owned by Greg Penner (30%), Carrie Walton Penner (30%) as part of the Walton-Penner group that owns 94% of the team, with Hobbs, Hamilton, Ric combined for the other 6%. The Penners live in CA, but have a home in Aspen as well.

Kroenke, who owns the Nuggets (NBA), Avalanche (NHL) (and Ball Arena where both play), Rapids (MLS), Mammoth (Lacrosse), and Arsenal (Premier League), also owns the LA (formerly St. Louis) Rams. He lives in Missouri with a home in Malibu (and has a ranch in Texas).

The Commanders controlling owner is Josh Harris but there are 14 limited partners including Magic Johnson ($240M of the $6.05B price). Harris lives in New York, also with a home in Miami Beach.

In other words, NFL ownership has reached the stratosphere where groups have to buy it and they don’t care where the team is and if there is a local connection as long as they can get in the winning group in the race for a piece of the league.

As far as expansion, it’s more likely now that a team is bought and moved, but there are probably better markets right now – back to St Louis or San Diego? San Antonio? Louisville? OKC? Portland? Who could lose their team – Jacksonville? If there is expansion, could full well be London or Mexico City (altitude?!), but I couldn’t see that lasting very long.

Minnesota that has been my complaint with Smith. Nobody seemed to have a role. Jensen will change that. Majerus was the master of giving each player a role and designing that role to fit the players strength and team success.

I had to give up my tickets because of $$$. Last two years I have no clue who some of the numbers on the field. I know I know you can get on your phone and look up the rosters. I leave my phone in the car for a good reason. I’m old school and used to buy a program.

A weird suggestion might be to put a picture, name and number on the big screen if a new player enters the game on offense or defense due to an injury or rotation. Portal has made it difficult to identify who’s who?
