ParticipantI tried to sponsor last year, but I assume my offer was declined because I sell beer.

ParticipantTypical off-season banter aggravated by the last two seasons and P12 break up. KW kept the core of his coaches and best players tells me the players are all in. I enjoy this site creativity and content of the posters. When a poster quotes Tolstoy, you know we’re getting close to kickoff.

KeymasterOldAsDirtUte: For youtube videos don’t use the link dialog. Just paste the URL on a single line and the video will preview here inline, instead of making the user go to youtube to watch it.

ParticipantFrom the article: “No. 25 Utah (+59): Our voters are clearly expecting a return to form for Kyle Whittingham’s program, bouncing back from last year’s 5-7 showing to be right back in the mix for the Big 12 title. Some more consistent availability at the quarterback position will be a welcome start, with Devon Dampier arriving from New Mexico to be the centerpiece of a re-tooled offense.”

KeymasterFirst… it’s the offseason. Second… There’s a ton of great content here. Just ignore the TSPP category and you’ll probably filter out most the stuff you don’t want. It’s really unfortunate that we are in a conference with “them” again. Their fan’s childish CB mentality brings everyone around them down to a junior high cat fight level. I was so happy to ignore them and pretend they didn’t exist when we were in the Pac-12.

ParticipantI think this is a very fair point. The post Majerus era has been brutal 95% of the time. It would be crushing to see something similar in football. I think that is where Utah fans are really lucky to have somebody like Scalley standing in the wings though. We can’t say that he will for sure be successful, but I think it’s more likely than not. He has such deep Utah ties, so much family here, and stands to make so much money over the next 20 years that I really think it’s more likely that he would stay than leave. Probably much more likely.

ParticipantI understand what you are saying. To me – it seems that the fire does not burn inside KW as it once did. I could be wrong. I hate how Kyle handled the QB issues the last few years. I think he failed in 1. Getting a solid backup ready to play and 2. The weekly drama was handled very poorly IMO. 3. As the coach, he should not have let the locker room become a disaster.

ParticipantBe careful what you wish for. I hope Kyle stays forever. I remember thinking that near the end of the Majerus days that maybe it was time for him to move on because I had grown tired of his off season flirting with every program out there. I had also grown a little tired (ie spoiled) with winning games 52-43. Boy was I wrong!
I’ve had 20+ years to learn how foolish I was to even think that Utah could just reload and that Chris Hill would just find another Majerus or Urban Meyer whenever he wanted. I’m not making that mistake again. I know that with Kyle running things, the football team will always be in the running for a conference championship 90% of the time. And that is great with me. I hope to hell that Scalley will be able to stay for 25 years but I just know the chances of catching lightening in a bottle again might just not be a realistic proposal.
Go UTES!
