I hear you, belli1976 but since my NCAAM bracket has been pretty much blown up and the Lady Utes are out it’s still nice to have a team to root for, even if its for the NIT championship…and would love to see the seniors go out on a high note, but we all know how poorly this team has played on the road.

      Go UTES!

And then the 2nd quarter 8 point happened…Lady Utes were able to come back and beat SD but not Gonzaga…good season all around, though!

Have to agree with GameForAnyFuss. During my time on the Hill, Men’s BB was King, we had to camp out at the Special Events Center the night before game tix where released to get student seats while you could walk up to Rice-Eccles at the start of any FB game and get your tickets. As George C. Scott’s Patton character put it, “Americans love a winner and will not tolerate a loser”.

Understood and think the best thing for the team to do is keep winning in the NIT to finish out strong for the seniors and help recruiting!

Big Thumbs Up – any chance to keep playing, even in the NIT, is a chance to get better for a brutal introduction to B12 BB!

I’m not hating it! The Utes were the last pairings announced during the ESPN telecast, but if you watched closely the highlights before that last segment included a dunk by BC so that was a pretty good “tell” that the Utes would be in the field…and the coach commentator gave an impassioned defense of continuing to play if you’re given the opportunity for the same reasons FB coaches still support the bowl system – more player development time, last time some guys will ever play, etc…and as always, Go Utes!

Great post! I was at the ’78 game and believe it or not, the games were so poorly attended you could just walk up at game time and get a free student ticket and sit anywhere in the stadium…and forget tailgating!

Hold on, MDUte, let’s win a few games first! I grew up watching the SWC and continued following the B12 as my grad degree is from UTD and I can tell you that the B12 will truly test the Utes’ defense as it’s typically an offensive-based conference – with the joke being for most games “first team to 100 wins!”.

Live outside of Zion so watched it from the comfort of home. Crowd looked a little sparse, but guess better crowds will return with an improving team. Looking forward to B12 next year only b/c a few of the games will be a reasonable drive depending on how they choose to schedule games – has anyone heard about BB ’24-’25 yet?
