I don’t know about the homeless committing more crimes (at least not violent), but roughly 30-40% are addicts, so the drug trade tends to be highly prevalent in areas where the homeless congregate. This is not an argument against homeless shelters, by the way. Seeing as nearly 50% of the homeless population is either severely mentally ill, or on…[Read more]

PorterRockwell started the topic Jim Winder's ideas for the homeless has some merit IMO here's why in the forum Politics 8 years, 3 months ago
Homeless shelters should be for those they truly are accepting of help and want to better their own situation. Ie get educated get a JB etc
there is a certain percentage of people that do in fact want to be homeless. So rather than cycle them through the courts on infractions and misdemeanor charges Since these people want to camp out etc why…[Read more]

Most of his best movies have largely been non-horror imho: The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Running Man, Stand By Me, and Misery (sort of horror I guess) come to mind. The only horror movie inspired by his books that I really love is The Shining. He’s had several decent flicks, at least entertaining, including Silver Bullet (haven’t…[Read more]

I don’t know if renewables can replace coal or not. Coals days are clearly numbered though. It cannot compete cost wise with natural gas it has the stigma of being dirty and the mining process is anything but environmentally friendly.
We humans are capable of some surprising and amazing things when we set out minds to it.

This will be great. The one thing that killed me about the first film was the ending. The special effects weren’t there yet, and the entire illusion crumbled. Also, one thing every great horror movie nails is the music, and the music in the trailer is already unsettling.

Governor Herbert and his cronies are not the boss of me besides my Colt Peacemakers only hold six rounds each. If I were deliver Justice to them tree Huggers I would need a fancier weapon that holds more rounds.

The way I read is they will all be able to sell and use the data they already have. So yeah Google and face book won’t be affected. Bad example on my part but now AT&T time Warner Verizon and whomever will be able to sell your browsing history and profit from where previously they could not.

I also work downtown – near the library. I like the Greek place someone else mentioned on 3rd S. I can only remember Su Casa in association with stomach problems, but I suppose it is cheap and filling.
I also like the Harmon’s downtown. Lots of good grab and go lunch options there.
