I disagree, but for different reasons that others have given. I simply don’t like the message that the portal sends to these kids: That if you’re not getting what you want, just quit and go somewhere else and keep doing that until you do get what you want. At an impressionable age, we should be trying to teach our young people the opposite.

I think Dawes is simply a freshman who is a victim of the fact that the two centers both returned from injury at the same time.

Most players don’t want the chance to be the starter – they want to be told they are the starter. That’s the biggest way in which the portal is harming student-athletes.

Why is anyone even surprised? At this point, you have to assume that any player who hasn’t been an everyday starter – on any team – is going to the portal.

There’s only one thing I don’t understand about the Ute fan base: Why are so many of us constantly negative, pessimistic, and depressed? We seem to have a greater percentage of Eeyores than any other fan base I’ve observed. Assuming we’re speaking only about football, the only thing that really must go is the Bhutan death march that occurs on the concourse behind the NEZ after every game. Who’s the genius who designed in a choke point?
