ProudUte replied to the topic What do you want to see in the SUU game? in the forum Football 9 months, 1 week ago
Yeah, I want Cam to get enough reps that he feels comfortable because the next week will be a tougher game. But, I would like to see Isaac get some PT.

Isaac and Jerome are former teammates. Hopefully, Isaac can recruit Jerome to join the family!

I was just going to post that too. I am happy with this, since I see him as our QB of the future. I think Isaac has “IT”.

For me:
– A solid victory
– Cam Rising and Kuithe looking like they did a couple of years ago.
– An innovative passing attack.
– A solid defense that gives up very little.
– A pick-6, so we can get that out of the way. 🙂
– A chance to see some backups, especially at QB and LB.
– NO SERIOUS INJURIES!!!

ProudUte started the topic Another B12 power ranking in the forum Football 9 months, 2 weeks ago
This ranking still has Utah as number 1, but otherwise it’s a little different. It was created by a WVU media guy, so he has WVU as 4th. WVU had a surprisingly good season last year, so who knows?
He projects Utah will have one loss to Arizona and that we will end up 11-1. But, he has Arizona picked 5th with losses to a…[Read more]

This article ranks Utah’s 2024 schedule from best to worst. I do agree with the first four on their list. I kind of understand BYU being fifth because of the rivalry, but …

ProudUte started the topic Nice interview with Whitt in the forum Football 9 months, 2 weeks ago
I actually saw this on CB this afternoon. As they tend to do, they began to attack coach Whitt for the thing he said. I challenge anyone (Ute or Cougar) to find anything Whitt said that could be considered offensive to BYU fans.
It is a nice interview. But, Whitt keeps everything close to the vest – so there is nothing…[Read more]

I hear that Scalley stayed with Nathan, which is why he made his final decision to come to Utah.

He is now listed as a 5 star guy. This would be an amazing get. I have not idea what ties this kid from Illinois has to Utah.

ProudUte started the topic Bad picks in 60 in 60 so far in the forum Football 9 months, 2 weeks ago
As of yesterday, they are number at #17. I know that it means nothing, but it is interesting to see where the local media guys place players.
The biggest underrated player so far, IMO, is Tao Johnson at #40. I think he is going to be a great safety for the Utes. BYU has a couple of DBs ranked better than him, which makes no sense to me.
Singer…[Read more]

ProudUte started the topic It's a great time to be a Ute football fan in the forum Football 9 months, 2 weeks ago
I have been a Ute football fan since the early 1960s. I remember the Liberty Bowl of 1964 (first college football game played indoors). The first year I had season tickets was in 1974. We went 1-10. It was a terrible year, but I still had fun.
There was no way that we ever thought that our Utah football team would ever be rated, play in the…[Read more]

ProudUte started the topic Isaac Wilson this season in the forum Football 9 months, 2 weeks ago
I heard from someone last night that the coaching staff wants to get Wilson as many practice reps as possible throughout the season. The best way to do this outside of being the starter is to have him run the scout team. Of course, everyone wants Rising to stay healthy and start every game. That means he will get 80% of the reps in practice…[Read more]

ProudUte replied to the topic Andrews as RB in the forum Football 9 months, 2 weeks ago
I find this interesting because we don’t seem to have a lot of depth at LB and we have a big RB room. I understand that our two starting linebackers are excellent, and Fotu and Reynolds show promise. Still, I would have thought we needed him more on defense.
It sounds like we need a guy that can get those tough yards in short-yardage…[Read more]

ProudUte replied to the topic I miss getting meaningful updates from camp. in the forum Football 9 months, 2 weeks ago
Interesting, especially at QB. Does this mean that they just want to redshirt Wilson?
It is also interesting that Alford didn’t make your top 3 receivers. But, a team will typically utilize 5-6 WRs.
OnlyU, Ar you sticking with your prediction that we become more of a passing team?

ProudUte replied to the topic I miss getting meaningful updates from camp. in the forum Football 9 months, 2 weeks ago
CC, I agree with you. When we get a lead, Whitt will slow things down and just try keep the football and run the clock out. So, yes, the stats in the end will likely show that we run a bit more than pass (assuming we get big leads). However, when the game is in question, I suspect we will pass more than Whitt has ever done.
