Regarding our receivers not getting separation… Was the Arizona receiver who caught the winning pass in double OT open? Sometimes it’s about the player’s desire. In the pac-12 with the speed every team has, I just don’t think we are going to see our receivers THAT open. The passes have to be on the money. Patterns and routes run well, and…[Read more]

Uh no @whistleofmoose
Fan participation level is not why we do or don’t reach any particular goal. Coaching, player talent (or lack of talent) and DEPTH at this point are our problems.
I’ll be at the Colorado game. I’ll be at the tailgate freezing my ass off just like I have for the last several decades.

So the last fumble apparently was PLAY ACTION. How funny is that? It didn’t even cross my mind that in an obvious passing situation we would do play action. Not going to fool anyone. The fake was so bad that it was fumbled. So awful. A mistake made in the first few days of camp, not in the 2nd to last game of the season with a freaking…[Read more]

Yes agree @westslopecutthroat with your comments. He’s a good kid and has guts beyond what any of us could probably imagine. There were some basic things he never seemed to figure out, like stepping up in the pocket and letting the rush go by or getting rid of the ball instead of taking a sack.
While we might think the UCLA game was lost…[Read more]

At a current ranking of #18, I don’t imagine we will stay in the top 25 after tonight’s horrid performance and loss at HOME to an unranked team.
The rise and fall is insane. Ever see a team reach a ranking so high and drop completely out of the top 25?

Just got home from the game. I can barely type because my hands are still frozen. I’m not as disappointed as I am completely baffled by the play calling in this (UCLA) game. Williams was shredding UCLA, sometimes getting 8-9-10+ on first down. So we decide to do something else, which then does not work.
We get down to the 2 yard line by…[Read more]
Tony (admin) replied to the topic Should we have been running two or three different backs this year? in the forum Football 8 years, 6 months ago
Yes Williams was running great, which is why we stopped giving him the ball and tried to do other stuff.

Yes that was a great drive. When we went right at them we got big gains on the ground.
SO naturally the thing to do is stop doing that and try something else. WTF?

I’m about to head up to the tailgate and game. Getting ready to freeze to death.
For those who will be in the warmth of their home during the game, here’s the game thread and as always jump into the chat room at http://www.utehub.com/chat

Losing Olsen was huge
Never thought I’d hear that…

Fortunately for me I had to miss watching this game due to a family obligation. 90-66 later I’m glad I did. Apparently Poetl was in foul trouble and Loveridge was one of the only bright spots.
I’ve been saying all along that I worry about having no backup center….
Is this just one game or are we looking at a long season?

Ugh just got back from dinner and saw the score. Glad I missed this one.
