Interesting. You think the assistant’s Utah might be targeting are on playoff teams? I’d imagine that anyone else would be fair game since bowls haven’t seemed to stop people from taking other jobs.

Kids used to get chemistry in a box for Xmas. It must not be as hard to build as people make it out to be 🙂

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Koy Detmer to Utah in the forum Football 6 months, 1 week ago
I had that message about a month ago and emailed Tony. He was able to post the link for me and also mentioned something about checking the spam filter.
There was also an issue with “X” instead of “Twitter” a year or so ago but I don’t have access to X so I didn’t pay attention to what the fix was. There is a section in HELP about posting from…[Read more]

Unless someone is a bit more forthcoming with the nature of this injury than they were the last one, I’m not sure how anyone on here can answer your question.

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Whitt…. “I’m Back.” in the forum Football 6 months, 1 week ago
Completely expected. Whitt had all the leverage and wasn’t going to leave money on the table for himself or take it away from his friends and family staff who’d stood by him for years.
It doesn’t lessen the stink from the complete pile of doo-doo he oversaw in 2024. The buyout becomes much more manageable after 2025 and I doubt the decision…[Read more]

Agree, players make plays and coaches coach. Execution is some combination of both.
It’s just counterintuitive to me to replace the roster while keeping largely the same staff. Because wasn’t that staff in charge of finding and coaching up the players to the point where they could execute at the required level?

2008 National Champ replied to the topic Our QB and RB rooms are empty in the forum Football 6 months, 1 week ago
I like the optimism Charlie but Utah is now in roughly the same position Colorado was two years ago when this board pretty close to unanimously said it was not possible to replace whole rooms and build meaningful chemistry in a single offseason. Unless Whitt has a first round QB nephew that I’m not aware of and can bring a former top rated…[Read more]

Kind of seems apropos to announce the plethora of QB coaches after they all leave.

So is this like a reoccurring thing every season now? You get to wonder if this is it after a massively underperforming offense? Entire position group of players leaving with fresh surgeries and new teams?
Scalley in the shadows taking super secret head coach in waiting blame?
“New normal” worst phrase ever for this decade. Got nothing on skibidi.

Yeah. Beck and his offense/his guys can’t get here soon enough. Flush these two past seasons down the toilet.

2008 National Champ replied to the topic If SMU Doesn't Get into the CFP in the forum Football 6 months, 1 week ago
I just never saw a reason for the Pac-12 to eliminate themselves which was always the risk. Sure Utah and SC should have won their games to prove that they were the best team in the conference but those weren’t the stakes. It was always the faint hope that by beating someone you had usually already played that year would be enough to overcome…[Read more]

Two season ending injuries and not feeling like I was ever given a real chance would have me looking elsewhere if I was in Rose’s shoes. Would you want to start at ground zero with the potential of the new OC bringing in his guy to start over you?

I am heavily leaning to Rising staying again.

If you play 9 conference games already I see a point. 8 I want to see a championship. Especially with divisions essentially.

Conference Championship game cost Utah in 2019 and SC in 2022. Both one loss teams that had an argument for the playoff until they lost the CCG. I’ve wanted those CCG’s gone for a long time.

Yep. same look as Colorado’s. I think it was necessary for Track & Field when that was in the stadium.
