Harlan or Whit should bring Krindor onto their teams to do analytics.

Our problems may run deeper. Harlan’s track record doesn’t provide evidence that he can hire the right coach.
One could argue that Harlan is a sustainer at best, riding Chris Hill’s coattails. At worst he is a poor evaluator/decision maker (see his USF and his Utah hires to date, not good).
We have big decisions and strategic navigation to be…[Read more]

MDUte, do you know what Lander’s injury was?
Yergensen replied to the topic I'll take it! in the forum Football 2 months ago
I would be shocked if more than 1 Big 12 team makes it. Not because I look down on the conference, but P2 and ND will control or at least heavily influence who at large goes to.
Yergensen replied to the topic Chip Kelly leaving UCLA in the forum Football 2 months, 1 week ago
Yeah, sabotage would land you outside the industry. But man, it looks like he’s put in zero work this offseason. He’s been planning to leave for some time. I’m assuming he did UCLA a favor by resigning, I wonder what his payout would have been had he been fired.
Yergensen replied to the topic Chip Kelly leaving UCLA in the forum Football 2 months, 1 week ago
Wild, almost has the look of sabotage, CK definitely has been checked out for awhile. UCLA recruiting class, which recruits itself, ranked 59th and then CK leaves after the class signs for a coordinator position. They’ll now lose players, scramble for a new head coach and go into Big 10 play in shambles.
The only program more deserving of this k…[Read more]

I don’t remember TT cracking 4.8 in multiple attempts.

Cool, despite Urban’s dip in approval rating he has continued to be an Utah and Coach Whit ambassador. Once a Ute always a Ute.

It looks like he played in a smaller classification. Great numbers against small schools might be a reason he’s off radar.

He’s a 2* on Rivals. Can’t find him on 247.

Class of 24 (this class) PWO.
Yergensen replied to the topic An Updated Look: Utah's running back room in the forum Football 2 months, 2 weeks ago
I prefer 3 down backs. A multi dimensional RB that keeps defenses guessing when on the field. A capable between tackles runner that can take a run to the next level rather than 4 yards and a pile of dust. We have this in Bernard, Woods etc.
Yergensen replied to the topic Utah should demand unequal revenue sharing from B12 in the forum Football 2 months, 2 weeks ago
This is a small picture perspective. Big picture is B12 is a lifeboat, hopefully a short term fix and we somehow get invited to the cruise ship.
I don’t think we rock the lifeboat in the meantime? I don’t think the short term gains, if you can even get them, are worth the defocus on the big picture and the reputation hit.
I would think we nee…[Read more]

Whit raised the floor on this season.
It can also be true at the same time that he lowered the ceiling.
IMO he should be credited with both.

Would you say the fan base has reached the point of apathy toward MBB? If so, most pro sport GMs and college ADs would make a change on this alone.
While I think there’s too much turnover in coaching, Smith’s body of work and talent that he puts on the court doesn’t indicate he’s going to turn it around.
If Harlan gives him another season,…[Read more]

Yeah, the missing 2 starters and still beat Oregon headlines is folly. It’s a positive that 2 talent blockers have been out of the lineup in recent games.
